Guiding You from Distance to Deep Connection

Behavior is a Barometer

Contrary behavior doesn’t indicate failure. It simply shows you something isn’t working.

Parents, guardians, and professionals arrive here tired of all the behavior tactics they’ve tried. They’ve read the books, listened to the podcasts, done the sticker charts, and used everything from bribing to time-out to no avail.

It’s all leaves you wondering whether or not you really can become the parent you want to be.
You’re not alone. You haven’t failed. And you’re not broken.

At Connective Parenting, we help parents and professionals by getting to the root of what’s happening. Starting with themselves. We guide you to respond with clarity, calm, and confidence as you build the kind of connection your family has been waiting for.

We don’t teach techniques and tactics here. This isn’t another parenting trend. Connective Parenting is a philosophy rooted in 30+ years of working with real families in real moments.

What makes us Different

  • N

The child's needs and wants are no more important than anyone else's

  • N

Parent's retain authority in the home

  • N

The situation teaches - you don't have to

  • N

You can be angry and still be accountable without blaming your child

  • N

Not permissive, not punitive but present

  • N

No one is perfect or gentle all the time

Our work is grounded in the belief that when a child is acting out, they’re reaching out.

We guide parents to start within, helping them understand the source of their own reactions and the beliefs or patterns absorbed long before they ever became parents. We don’t ask children to change who they are. We invite parents to understand them. In this restored, trusting relationship, everything changes.

Your child feels seen, heard, gotten.

They become more trusting, accountable, and confident in who they are.

You understand yourself and your child like never before.

You feel stronger, more confident, and you regain authority. Your perspective changes as you understand why your buttons get pushed, and your relationship settles.

You stop reacting and start responding.

The guilt lifts, the shame quiets, and you handle moments feeling good about how you showed up.

Your entire family exhales.

Connective Parenting allows for all kinds of feelings. Everyone has a voice and an opinion that’s respected and heard. Where there was once distance, there’s now togetherness, and connection takes the place of conflict.

What Do We Mean When We Say Everything Changes?

In reality, we do mean everything. We help you find your way back to a fulfilling relationship with yourself and your child.

We’ve been there too. We understand the daily power struggles, the feelings of exhaustion and hopelessness when you try to get your child to change. We know what it feels like to be able to visualize the parent you want to be, only to be taken over by something else entirely when your child does that one thing.

Suddenly, you hear words coming out of your mouth that you swore you’d never say. Followed by guilt and shame.

We also know the transformative power of getting a new point of view. We know how satisfying parenting can be once you do. And we know how amazing it feels when you’re an empowered parent living in balance with your children.

Bonnie Harris, Author and Parenting Coach
“Bonnie has been the ray of sunshine that broke through the darkness that my family was sinking into deeper and deeper, every day. She’s enlightened us with her common sense, wisdom, and above all, respect for each other. She has enabled our family of three teenagers to become civil again!” Mother of 3 teens
“My husband and I first came to Bonnie looking for help with our spirited child. Throughout our struggles and joys, Bonnie helped us understand the interpersonal dynamics in our family and gave us useful, practical advice. Bonnie brings empathy and intellectual depth to her practice, and we’ve come to depend on her remarkable warmth and wisdom.” Mother of 2
